Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.1 is Now Rolling Out For All Supported Pixel Devices with Several Bug Fixes

Google made an excellent decision when it decided to bring quarterly platform releases, as it allowed the company to push new features without adding these features into bigger updates. Now, Android is preparing to finally have a feature that would allow you to convert your physical SIM into an eSIM without having to jump through several hoops.

Google really wants you to have a super-easy time converting your physical SIM to eSIM with future Android versions

A feature similar to this is already available on iPhones. For instance, when you move from an older iPhone to a newer iPhone that only has an eSIM slot, you are prompted to convert your physical SIM to an eSIM. This actually allows you a much safer, convenient, and hassle-free experience as opposed to some other options, and the best thing is that it is now going to come to Android devices, as well.

Google is apparently working on a Convert to eSIM feature--the feature was first spotted a while back, but now, it is available in the latest QPR 2 Beta 3. It is still not functional, but considering how you can see the feature on the phone, it means that you will not have to wait a long time before you get access to it. It is worth noting that I am talking about the stock version of Android. What this means is that it is going to take some time before the same feature starts rolling out to other OEM skins, but the good news is that Google is currently working on and hopefully, we will not have to wait a long time before we start seeing this feature make appearances on every supported device.

Do you think eSIM is something that should become a norm on Android devices, as well? Let us know what your thoughts are in the comments below.
