Super Mario Run Will Be Available in March For Android, Breaking its iOS Exclusivity

Nintendo surprised everyone on stage when it announced that it would bring Super Mario Run to iOS. Although the game did manage to reach the top of the charts instantly, but the iOS exclusivity was something that left a lot of eager players out of the equation. But luckily, Nintendo did announce at the time that Super Mario Run will eventually arrive on Android, with pre-registrations going live a few weeks back on Google Play.

Today, however, Nintendo, via its official Twitter account, has confirmed that the game will be available to download in March. There's no precise release date at hand, but March of 2017 is more than enough to keep the excitement flowing for everyone out there.

If you haven't pre-registered for the game already, we suggest doing so right now by heading over to this link on Google Play. As soon as the download is live, you will be notified on your Android device about it. Also, it should be worth mentioning here that the game is absolutely free to download, but you will be required to pony up $9.99 if you wish to unlock the complete game. That's mere pocket change for diehard fans, but a steep amount of money for those hoping for a casual gameplay run.

It should be made clear here that the game requires an always-on Internet connection if you want to dive into action. This move was made by Nintendo in order to ensure there's no instance of piracy whatsoever. So, if you were hoping to play the game whilst in airplane mode, then you might want to reconsider your long-term strategy.

If you are an iPhone or iPad user, then you can download the game right away on your device. Simply tap on the link below. And also, the same rules apply on iOS as well - always-on Internet connection and a $9.99 in-app purchase is required to unlock the full game.
