Final Fantasy VII Revelation is set to conclude the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy with an explosive taking everything seen in the previous games and turning it up to eleven while delivering unprecedented levels of player freedom. As part of the process to bring everything possible from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth back in Final Fantasy VII Revelation, director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed in a new interview with Japanese outlet Gamespark that every outfit seen in the second entry in the series will be back, including Tifa's iconic swimsuit obtained during the party's visit to Costa del Sol.
"The strategic aspects of battles and the enjoyment of the visuals are, in a sense, contradictory. I think there are users who would dislike being forced to adopt a look they don't like just for the sake of strategy," Hamaguchi-san said regarding the possibility of taking advantage of the FITS system while equipping whichever outfit the player prefers. "Naturally, equipping clothing will change your character's appearance, but we've also implemented a separate, higher-priority "skin" system. Even if your character's performance is that of a warrior, you can enjoy changing them back to their original soldier outfit or to other outfits obtained through exploring the world map."
With every costume seen in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth returning in Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Tifa's swimsuit will return as well. "You can even choose to fight in Tifa's swimsuit," Hamaguchi-san explained. "Because the characters are so iconic, I think there's a high demand for players to want to play in these outfits, so we've made it relatively easy to choose."
Delivering the Biggest Postgame Content of the Trilogy
Besides confirming the return of Tifa's swimsuit for the joy of every fan of the character, the Final Fantasy VII Revelation director provided some new information on the postgame content, which will be significantly different from what is offered in the rest of the trilogy.
"I haven't told anyone this yet, but in previous games, you could reach the level cap relatively easily after clearing the game, and it was designed with the intention of "please play through it thoroughly with the intention of starting over," Hamaguchi-san explained. "But this time, we've prepared a lot of content that is much stronger than the final boss, such as the Weapons and the "Knights of the Round," which I'm sure you've all been looking forward to."
This, needless to say, is extremely good news, as the postgame content in Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth involved going through the story again in Hard Mode and the chance to complete some difficult combat challenges. Looking at the high difficulty of some of the postgame VR fights in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, it's really difficult not to get excited about the prospect of the Knights of the Round battle becoming the most epic fight in the entire series, and make the wait for the game's release in Spring 2027 even more difficult.
