Silent Hill 2 Remake Patch 1.04 Introduces NVIDIA DLSS, Performance Improvements, Support for AMD FSR 3.1.1, Addresses Stuttering Issues and More

A new Silent Hill 2 remake patch has gone live today on PC and PlayStation 5, introducing performance improvements and other enhancements on PC, as well as plenty of gameplay fixes and improvements.

The 1.04 patch brings plenty of PC-specific improvements, which include reduced visual glitches when using NVIDIA DLSS, DLSS Frame Generation support when using DLSS for supersampling, and active NVIDIA Reflex when Frame Generation is active to reduce input lag. The patch also introduces support for AMD FSR 3.1.1, adds an option to enable AMD Fluid Motion Frames in the menu when using AMD FSR 3.1 for supersampling, updates Intel Nanites to support upcoming driver updates, introduces improves performance and optimization for Steam Deck, addresses stuttering issues related to sky map generations and adds an option to enable/disable HZB culling to fix stuttering on some AMD/Intel GPUs. The last two are extremely welcome, considering the stuttering issues that plague the game.

Regarding PlayStation 5-specific fixes, the new Silent Hill 2 remake patch fixes some rare crashes caused by AI, texture binding, streaming, and the audio portal update, as well as an issue with the option of switching In Game Motion Blur. The gameplay fixes, which are shared between the two versions of the game, can be found detailed in full here.
