Samsung is determined to bring many upgrades this year and is focused on introducing some noteworthy improvements to its foldable models, especially given that last year was not optimal for the company. The tech community had many expectations from the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6, and when they finally came out, the models only carried out some marginal improvements.

This was rather disappointing because the competition, on the other hand, was aggressively working to bring innovations. While the hopes are high this time, speculations have given some insights into the upcoming foldable and what it will bring. A new leak reveals that the Z Flip 7 could be packed with a bigger battery.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 is said to be getting a bigger battery compared to its predecessor, although the difference is not huge

Companies are increasingly focused on incorporating not just bigger batteries but also transitioning towards silicon-carbon tech. Samsung seems in no hurry to jump on the bandwagon and appears to be playing safe with its upcoming foldable. Although the promises have been of upgrades, the tech giant seems to focus on incremental battery capacity improvements. While it is still an improvement from its predecessor, given how others are moving to efficiency improvements, the company needs to bring up its A game.

Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 6 came with a 4,000mAh battery, and while the capacity seemed decent, the apps and functionality of phones now require battery life to extend longer and be more powerful. The expectations are higher for the next Z Flip 7 model, but it seems that the company is not pushing much harder for it, either. The new flip phone is expected to come with 4,300mAh as per a recent leak by Galaxy Club, which is not a ground-breaking upgrade, especially considering other brands opting for much bigger leaps.

The source also suggests that Samsung would be opting for its classic strategy of splitting the battery into two units for the Z Flip model, the rated capacity being lower than the bigger typical capacity. Although it is an improvement, it seems that the company might be focused on other upgrades over battery capacity, or it could be that the tech giant is holding back due to space constraints.

Samsung will unveil its next foldable lineup at the Unpacked event in July, and we will get more details on the performance and upgrades the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will undergo.
