Galaxy Z Flip 7 first look

Samsung launched its Galaxy Z Flip 6 last year alongside the Z Fold 6. While users were highly anticipating the foldable, it did not meet the high expectations consumers had from the product as competitors were able to bring forward more innovations. The company promised to bring some major changes this year, not just with its flagship models but with its foldables as well. The S25 series is already out with some key improvements, including design, camera, and noticeable AI integrations. However, the tech community is now hooked on the release of the Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7. The devices are expected to come out in July, but the leaks give us the first look at the upcoming flip model.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 only brought incremental improvements, but Samsung acknowledged and apologized for the lack of innovation on its end. It even gave users hope of bringing significant upgrades in the year 2025. With the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, the AI capabilities remain the biggest selling point of the series, along with rounded edges for the S25 Ultra model; the attention has now shifted to the next foldable the company will bring about in July.

We have the first look at the upcoming Galaxy Flip 7, owing to a leak shared by OnLeaks via Android Headlines. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 screen size has marginally increased from its predecessor, which stood at 3.4 inches for the cover display and 6.7 inches for the inner display. The Z Flip 7, on the other hand, is expected to feature a 3.6-inch cover screen and a 6.8-inch inner screen. The dimensions are also said to have improved and have now increased to 166.6 x 75.2 x 6.9mm and a thickness of 9.1mm, which includes the camera bump.

The design and display still seem to focus on gradual refinements rather than major leaps, and in comparison to the competition, it is not a noteworthy upgrade, given how Motorola Razr+ 2024 had a larger cover display. Samsung is expected to continue with the dual-camera layout of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 on the next model, and while apparently there seem to be no changes to the sensors, we could see them being upgraded.

Samsung has yet to reveal which processor will power the new foldable, and we have been seeing conflicting reports regarding the chipset for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Some sources suggest the company would opt for Exynos 2500, while others claim the tech giant might skip it due to the low yield rate. The South Korean tech giant is also expected to maintain the pricing of the model. We expect more details to emerge as the launch date approaches, so stay tuned.
