As shared earlier, Samsung is planning to push the innovation bar a little higher with Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 coming next year. Samsung Galaxy S6 will be redesigned right from the scratch; the project being called as Project Zero. This signifies the importance of introducing new design, new features, and better specs in the upcoming flagship of the Korean tech manufacturer. This has become essentially important for the company which is witnessing some continuous drops in profits for past few quarters.
While we knew that Samsung will redesign S6 completely, it is just in that the change will be quite radical as Sammy is reportedly planning to introduce YOUM flexible displays with dual edges - device will be curved on both the sides. This has already been seen in this year's Samsung Galaxy Note Edge which is a phablet but with an edge. The curvy part promotes ergonomical usage and is being taken with much appreciation.
Samsung Galaxy S6 dual-edge flexible display:
The latest rumor of Samsung Galaxy S6 sporting a dual-edged flexible display comes through a senior analyst at IHD Technology, Jerry Kang. Kang mentioned at the IHS Display Analyst Conference that the upcoming S6 next year will feature curves on both the sides. He also mentioned that Sammy had planned to introduce this design with Note Edge earlier and now will be taken forward to next Galaxy S.
Yesterday we saw a related rumor that Samsung will start mass producing 5.9" Ultra HD Super AMOLED display which may be fitted into the Note 5 next year. Would it be flexible or not, wasn't mentioned in the report. However, it looks like a lot of focus in the redesigning of both these smartphones is geared towards improving the display panels. Flexible and 4K - buzzwords that would gain Sammy quite a many new consumers.
Earlier rumors indicated that Samsung Galaxy S6 Project Zero includes a Quad HD display, Snapdragon 810 chipset, 16-megapixel or 20-megapixel primary shooter with optical image stabilization, and an improved front camera.
