The new Galaxy S25 lineup is a step in the right direction, but the company could have played around with the design a bit more, as the devices look pretty much identical to their predecessor. However, the company has showcased the capabilities of the device with the new Galaxy AI features, and software-wise, the entire lineup has a lot going for it. Samsung has also introduced new battery information in Settings, which now shows the health, cycle count, and much more.

Samsung's new Galaxy S25 will potentially come with extended battery health information

Apple already offers battery information on its iPhones, but Samsung has taken it up a notch with more information and more control over the device's battery. In various reports, we have previously covered that people use their smartphones for longer now, keeping a specific model for multiple years before they upgrade. It is now the responsibility of smartphone manufacturers to offer proper information regarding the device's battery life.

The battery information in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will portray the wear and tear of the cell and its longevity, allowing the user to be well-informed regarding the overall remaining capacity. The extended battery health information on the Galaxy S25 models will show the capacity in percentage, along with battery cycle count, manufacture date, and first used date (via Android Authority).

At this point, it appears that the extended battery health information is not available to everyone. However, Samsung could release a software update in the future that will enable battery health settings. There is also a possibility that the feature will be available in select markets. Furthermore, we are not sure if the new battery health settings will be available on older models of the Galaxy-branded devices.

Apart from this, the new Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra are a major step up from the previous model, all thanks to the new Galaxy AI features. In terms of internals, the Galaxy S25 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor to rival the likes of Apple's A18 Pro chip. We will keep you posted on additional details on the Galaxy S25 lineup, so do stick around.
