Rare Implements Day One Sea of Thieves Patch In The Game

Rare has implemented a day one Sea of Thieves patch in the game, but it’s not what you might except from a 'day-one patch'.

We aren’t talking about an actual game patch, but it’s a ‘patch’ nonetheless. Following a feature idea on the Sea of Thieves subreddit, Rare decided to implement a blinding number 1 eye-patch in the game.

“Day One Patch”, the description reads. “A message in a bottle from Jolly Jefabell washed ashore. Eye patch makers read it and said ‘aye’.” Eye-patches are wearable items in Sea of Thieves that can be purchased at the  game's General Clothing Shop.

Quite the prank from the British developer, and truth be told - it's quite hilarious in a time of gigantic day-one patches.

Sea of Thieves is releasing tomorrow for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, but appears to be already playable in New Zealand through the Xbox Game Pass.

The game was officially announced during Microsoft's 2015 E3 press conference, and the first gameplay was shown a year later.
