The PlayStation 5 Pro is looking to be an extremely developer-friendly system, as it would require developers little effort to offer better and more stable performance if the leaked specifications going around are real.

In a new video shared on YouTube earlier today, Moore's Law is Dead commented on the rumored specs that are making the rounds online, highlighting what others have said in their analyses regarding a Zen 2 CPU, which would be the best choice for the system due to a variety of factors, including the fact that it would have no trouble running modern AAA games. If the mid-gen refresh console's leaked specs are real, not only would its cost be kept quite reasonable, but it would also be an incredibly developer-friendly system, as it wouldn't require much effort from developers to take advantage of the hardware to make their games run better than on the base system.

While the leaked PlayStation 5 Pro specs sound believable, the leaked GPU specs are unlikely to be real. As highlighted by well-known AMD leaker Kepler, clock regression on the GPU would create backward compatibility issues, so it's pretty much certain Sony will not go with a GPU with a frequency target of 2.0 GHz, which is lower than that of the base PS5 GPU.

The PlayStation 5 Pro has yet to be officially announced, but it is rumored to be launching in late 2024. We will keep you updated on the system as soon as more come in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
