Pixel Fold is one of the best foldable phones out there, but several users have started to report that they are having issues with the foldable when it comes to scrolling on the internal screen. Users are calling it sticky scrolling, and it causes the internal screen to act up whenever someone is scrolling. The issues are popping up everywhere on the internet, and while there is no definitive fix, it is better to identify whether you are facing the same problem or not.
Pixel Fold's sticky scrolling looks like a nightmare for those who want to enjoy doom-scrolling
So, what exactly is sticky scrolling? Well, based on all the information we have gathered, it seems like a problem is that the screen's response is not as smooth as it should be when you are scrolling through the content. The screen, instead of effortlessly going up and down, sometimes jitters or jumps, can make it a hassle for users who are trying to enjoy content on their Pixel Fold. If you are not sure what this issue looks like, you can have a look at it below:
One person on my Discord said they've had this problem on their Fold. Also, we found these reports on Reddit and the Pixel community forums:https://t.co/197XmO9Jmo https://t.co/UYkXoJKc9F

Looking at the video posted above, I would be really annoyed if my device started doing that. To replicate this, I tried putting some water on my fingers and on the screen of my OnePlus 11, and it did act in a similar way. However, what Pixel Fold is doing looks to be far more annoying, and honestly, it would break the experience.
One thing that we can confirm is that this is not an isolated issue, as several reports from the internet are stating that Pixel Fold units are indeed going through this issue. But what is causing all these devices to act up? Well, it could be a defect in the unit, software, and the sensors that are responsible for detecting that you are using the screen. At the moment, it is hard to tell. However, since you are dealing with an internal screen of a foldable device, it is also worth noting that any sort of damage or small grains of dust can also be the cause behind this problem.
Sadly, despite more and more users coming up with this issue, there is still no official response from Google as to what is causing all these Pixel Fold units to act up. However, restarting the device is one way you can figure out if this will get sorted. In addition to that, you can take your device to Google and tell them about the problem you are facing. Another suggestion that we can give you is to clean the internal screen with a microfiber cloth and be sure that your software is updated.
Pixel Fold is not a cheap device by any means, and to run into such an experience is definitely something that many people will have issues with. After all, if you are spending top dollar on the phone, you would want that experience from the phone without running into any trouble.
