Want A Pixel 9 Through A Trade-In? Google Is Accepting Older Models With Offers Of Up To $760, Higher Than iPhone 15 Pro Max, Galaxy S24

Pixel 9 trade-in values are high if you own an older Google device

Google has switched stances on how it treats older Pixel smartphone owners because earlier if you wanted to upgrade to a newer handset, the company was giving low-ball trade-in offers for its own devices compared to what it was asking for the ones made by Apple and Samsung. With the Pixel 9 launch, if you own a Pixel Fold, a Pixel 8, or a Pixel 8 Pro, the advertising giant is giving its loyal customers more importance by offering them higher trade-in values for their smartphones. Now, that is one way to retain your consumer base.

If you own a Pixel Fold, you will receive $760 in trade-in credit, irrespective of the storage size

Visiting Google’s U.S. online store, we found that regardless of which Pixel 9 you want to upgrade, the trade-in values remain unchanged, but here is the best part. If you own the company’s last-generation models, such as the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, or the Pixel Fold, Google is offering attractive trade-in deals, making it an easier upgrade path to any Pixel 9. For instance, Pixel 8 Pro owners will receive $699 of credit, while Pixel Fold users will get $760, making it the highest trade-in offer from Google.

Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro can be swapped with any Pixel 9 for a $600 trade-in credit, while iPhone 15 Pro Max owners will get $720. Keep in mind that while Pixel Fold’s trade-in value is the highest at $760, customers had to pay $1,799 for the base storage model when it first launched, compared to $1,199 for the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Proportionately, Apple’s top-end model carries more value, but that is to be expected since these devices depreciate the slowest.

As for Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra owners, switching to a Pixel 9 through a trade-in offer will net you $650, making it less than the Pixel 8 Pro. Google is also giving $200 of Store Credit to any customer who upgrades to the Pixel 9 Pro or the Pixel 9 Pro XL, with the offer ending on August 28. If you want to look elsewhere, Amazon has an exceptional deal going on, giving you up to a $350 gift card if you pre-order the Pixel 9. In short, with the latest flagship launch, Google is going all-out with all sorts of offers, so here is your golden chance to capitalize.
