Today, ATLUS announced that Persona 3 Reload is the fastest-selling game in the franchise, having surpassed one million units sold within the first week of the launch date.

The game has peaked at 45K concurrent users on Steam, which may not be a lot compared to more popular genres but is also a franchise record for Persona. The JRPG genre appears to be faring well overall, as SEGA's Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth also achieved the same result as Persona 3 Reload, surpassing one million units in its debut week with a similar concurrent peak (46K). Moreover, Granblue Fantasy: Relink is enjoying even greater success, at least on Steam, where the title made by Cygames reached 114K concurrent users four days ago.

Persona 3 Reload is an Unreal Engine 4 remake of the fourth mainline installment in the franchise, which was originally launched in 2006 for the PlayStation 2. It features a visual overhaul as well as various improvements introduced to later games in the series, chiefly Persona 5. It also includes new scenes, character interactions, and extra voiceover.

According to a recent rumor, ATLUS may be preparing the post-game story campaign The Answer, which was available in the FES release of the original, as future DLC. Meanwhile, the PC version of the game can be modded to further improve visuals thanks to the P3R Graphical Enhancement Mod.
