GIGABYTE RTX 5060 Sees a Sudden $75 Price Hike in China, and More GPUs Will Likely Get Affected Similarly
Very recently, it was reported that NVIDIA has notified its board partners about a price hike for its memory kits. It appears that the change has already started to affect GPU prices. The RTX 50 series currently sits at a 20-30% higher price than the pre-RAMpocalypse period, with higher-end GPUs selling for much higher than their usual prices.
Prices for budget RTX 50 series cards still appear under control and are much more stable than higher-end SKUs, but it's about to change. As spotted by @realVictor_M, the RTX 5060 has witnessed a sudden surge in prices in the last 2-3 days. This is specific to China at the moment, but the trend is likely to be seen worldwide very soon.
As shown by the user, a GIGABYTE RTX 5060 is now selling for a 16% higher price than it was a week ago. In China, you would see RTX 5060 selling for around 2,600-2,700 Yuan, which translates to around US$400, but as the listing shows, the GIGABYTE RTX 5060 Eagle OC SFF 8 GB is now selling for 3,215 Yuan or US$475. This is a straight $75 price hike in just a few days, pushing the RTX 5060 to its highest price ever.
We cannot verify if the affected RTX 5060 cards account for only a few models or the majority of the available lineup, but considering NVIDIA has already decided to raise prices for the RTX 50 GPU+VRAM kits, a new price hike appears inevitable. You will be relieved to see the RTX 5060 still selling for around $350 in the US, but the prices won't likely stay there for a long time.
