NVIDIA RTX GPUs to See Another Price Hike as the Company Reportedly Passes Increased Memory Kit Costs to its Board Partners
The GPUs continue to suffer from the instability caused by DRAM availability and pricing. NVIDIA and AMD have adjusted the prices of their current-gen GPUs multiple times already, and it looks like there is another price hike incoming in the coming days. Since both manufacturers source memory from major suppliers, they have no option but to pass the increased costs to the AIBs.
In return, AIBs increase the prices of their GPUs, which is why we see 20-30% more expensive GPUs in the market at the moment. As per the latest report by Bench Life, NVIDIA is once again increasing GPU prices due to poor availability of VRAM and higher costs. However, this time the story is a little different, since it's not going to affect a single GPU lineup.
According to information we have received, in addition to the price increase of GDDR7 memory based on the Blackwell GPU architecture, other GeForce products using GDDR6 memory will also see price increases.

Benchlife says that NVIDIA has sent the price increase notice to its board partners, and this includes both GDDR6 and GDDR7 memory kits. For those who don't know, NVIDIA bundles both the GPU chips and VRAM memory modules to sell to its board partners, while the board partners deploy them on their custom PCBs. Since the prices of the GDDR6 and GDDR7 kits are about to see a new hike, it's expected that AIBs will have no choice but to raise the GPU prices.
Moreover, this time, the GPUs are going to see a substantial hike as AIBs are seeing higher costs for GPU coolers, PCBs, and packaging. Overall, we can expect a significant impact on the GPUs, including previous-gen cards that have largely remained less available than the RTX 50 series. On the other hand, the upcoming RTX 50 SUPER cards are going to bring a much larger price hike, given that the prices of 3 GB GDDR7 memory is 3X higher than 2 GB modules.
