Nokia 6 Refresh Brings Forth Upgraded Hardware and a New Design for the New Year
Nokia 6 2018 gets a unibody aluminum design and has lots of things that make it an attractive purchase for the budget crowd and some of these things are the same which were present in the Nokia 6. Now armed with a Snapdragon 630, it features more firepower under the hood, but there are other changes provided that you will soon find about.
Nokia 6 2018 Gets Faster RAM, Gets Rid of the microUSB Port and Features All the Essentials for a Smartphone
The Nokia 6 features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD but the old capacitive buttons below display have disappeared, with the rectangular fingerprint reader now residing on the back in a circular form. In addition to a faster SoC, you also get 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and a Type-C USB port.
Unlike a few manufacturers out there, the Nokia 6 also sports a headphone jack, and Bluetooth 5.0 radio so you have the option to plug in your earphones or just connect them wirelessly. Everything else though remains the same on the optics side of the game. At the back, there is a 16MP F/2.0 main camera with a 1um sensor plus dual LED. There is no dual-camera, and if you want to take advantage of selfies, there is an 8MP F/2.0 front camera with a 1.12um sensor.
The battery capacity remains the same, at 3,000mAh battery, plus a Cat. 4 LTE modem, dual-SIM card slots, and a microSD card slot. Now coming to one of the most attractive things about the refreshed phone; the price tag. The second-gen Nokia 6 is available for pre-order in Black and Silver color options for CNY1,499 (around $230) for the 32GB storage version, while the 64GB storage variant will set you back by CNY1,699 (around $260).
The actual sales of the smartphone will commence from June 10. With the first-gen Nokia 6 already present on Amazon, we have high hopes that the more powerful version will drop in sometime in the future.
