GeForce RTX 5050 was launched recently and even though major AIBs have released their custom editions, one can hardly find those.
Several Custom NVIDIA RTX 5050 Editions Launched on Newegg, Starting at $249 but Almost Zero Availability
NVIDIA's recently launched GeForce RTX 5050 appears to have an availability problem and while it's not uncommon to see GPUs not being in stock for a few days, there is possibly a different reason for the poor availability of the RTX 5050 card. Currently, we aren't able to see the GPU in stock at most retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and similar ecommerce stores.
Newegg is one of the first ones to list the GPU and there are over a dozen custom RTX 5050 editions listed on the site. However, not a single GPU is available in stock for purchase. Whether you look at the base models or premium OC models, none of those seem to be in Newegg's inventory at the moment. Currently, four major AIBs have released their cards on the platform: ZOTAC, MSI, ASUS, and GIGABYTE, which recently unveiled their custom editions on the launch.

As we can see, the GPU prices start at $249 but can go as high as $289 for editions like ASUS PRIME RTX 5050 O8G. There are multiple GPUs in this price range but you will have to wait for sometime to see them in stock. Newegg isn't taking any pre-orders or hasn't disclosed any information on the upcoming batch of the GeForce RTX 5050 cards. It's uncertain when the availability gets better and this might be linked to the sudden release of the GPU.
If you remember, NVIDIA unveiled the GeForce RTX 5050 on 24th June but the retail launch was scheduled in second half of July. In just a few days, NVIDIA notified its board partners to launch their custom designs, and therefore, the AIBs didn't likely have enough time for the launch. Managing inventory and shipping to the distributors takes weeks and therefore, it is likely that the GPU will have poor availability for the first 1-3 weeks. Still, this is just our speculation but going by the previous RTX 50 series GPUs launches, the RTX 5050 inventory might take sometime to get better.

Meanwhile, we recommend our readers not to go with anything higher than the MSRP. A price tag of $289 is ridiculous for the RTX 5050 as for just $10 more, you can get a much faster GeForce RTX 5060, which you can buy from major retailers like Amazon and Newegg.
