We've just received our first glimpse at what the upcoming Apple iPhone 18 Pro lineup might look like, at least the rear half, courtesy of the fairly accurate leaker Sonny Dickson.
Apple iPhone 18 Pro dummy units reveal the Dark Cherry and Dark Gray color options in all their glory
We reported on a tidbit back in April, one that suggested the iPhone 18 Pro duo will likely come in the following color options:
- Dark Gray (Pantone 426C)
- Dark Cherry (Pantone 6076) - a very subdued color similar in hue to what is known as wine red, replacing the current-gen iPhone 17 Pro's Cosmic Orange as the new headline color option for the upcoming series.
- Light Blue (Pantone 2121) - resembles the Mist Blue color option for the iPhone 17 lineup.
- Silver (Pantone 427C)
Well, fast forward to today, and we've just received our first inkling as to what the color options on the iPhone 18 Pro lineup might actually look like, courtesy of Sonny Dickson.
Interestingly, the Dark Gray option hinted at in the earlier leak appears more like metallic black. Meanwhile, it is patently clear that Apple will position Dark Cherry as the successor to its wildly popular Cosmic Orange option.
Elsewhere, these dummy units also show that Apple is doing away with the two-tone look that appears at the rear of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.
Meanwhile, we reported earlier today that, in what constitutes a bad omen for the pricing of the iPhone 18 Pro duo, the variable-aperture camera setup for the two apex iPhone 18 models is expected to be around 50 percent more expensive than the 7P plastic lens that Apple has employed within the iPhone 17 Pro duo. Coupled with soaring memory costs and the higher fabrication cost of the 2nm-based A20 Pro chipset, Apple likely will have to raise the price of its upcoming Pro duo.
