A new Resident Evil Requiem makes the wait for Mercenaries Mode considerably more bearable

Resident Evil Requiem is getting additional content, including a surprise mini-game, sometime in May, but if you are playing the game on PC and cannot wait for the possible arrival of a Mercenaries Mode in a few months, you should definitely download the More Enemies mod. This mod spices up the game by increasing the number of enemies across the game, delivering a feel that is pretty close to that of the now-classic series' additional mode.

The mod, available on Nexus Mods for free, "places additional enemies throughout the map with natural AI behaviors. Maids cleaning, zombies singing, Chunk patrolling hallways, and more lurking around every corner," as per the mod's official description. Better yet, this mod works on all difficulties, so you can expect Insanity difficulty to be even more of a challenge than it already is, making infinite ammo more of a requirement to get through it.

In the mod's 0.0.2.1 version, however, additional enemies are added only in Wrenmwood Street and the Rhodes Hill Care Center, so Raccoon City and the ARK still feature the vanilla number of enemies. Still, the mod is definitely worth trying for all those looking to spice up their next playthrough and enjoy even more of Leon's nuanced combat by swapping Grace with him via the Full Playable Leon mod.

Besides a highly requested Photo Mode and the aforementioned surprise mini-game coming in May, Resident Evil Requiem is also getting a story expansion that will delve deeper into the game's universe. Unfortunately, no details have been provided on this new story, nor its release date. Hopefully, this will be a beefy expansion in the vein of the Resident Evil 4 remake's Separate Ways DLC, which took the short extra campaign starring Ada from the original and turned it into a longer and compelling side story.
