It seems like we have officially entered the Snapdragon "X Elite" CPU official launch timeline, where it is expected that laptops surrounding the CPU lineup will be shipping out soon.

Previously, Qualcomm's CPUs were confined to reference models which were primarily for testing and consumer showcase. However, an X user, WalkingCat (@_h0x0d_), has shown us the first official look of a Lenovo laptops that utilize the Snapdragon X Elite CPUs.

It is reported that the Snapdragon X Elite CPU will debut in Lenovo's Yoga Slim 7 14 and the ThinkPad T14S "Snapdragon Edition" 2024, two high-end laptops designed specifically for enhanced productivity through their onboard features, not to mention the "flexible" design.

Unfortunately, WalkingCat has no specifications for us apart from the laptop's name; hence, we can't confirm what type of CPU will be there onboard, but based on a recent Geekbench listing, which was performed on a Lenovo motherboard, there was the presence of the Snapdragon X Elite-X1E78100. This CPU features a 12-core count with a maximum frequency of 3.42 GHz. So maybe such developments co-relate, but we can't be sure before the official details.

Qualcomm has kept its X Elite SKUs and respective details under the blanket. While we have seen benchmarks surface, giving us an idea of the performance, we are still unaware of what naming scheme the company would adopt here, which retains the element of curiosity. Several models of the lineup have leaked out in X Elite and X Plus variants.

That aside, the Snapdragon X Elite CPUs are surely going to take the laptop segment to a whole new level, especially in terms of AI performance, Qualcomm is way ahead when it comes to their onboard NPU, which is mighty faster than mainstream companies though Intel and AMD are going to be offering much faster AI PC solutions in the second half of this year so the competition is about to heat up in the AI PC space.

According to the official Qualcomm (Weibo) feed, it looks like the first laptops are expected to debut on the 20th of April at the Lenovo Tech World '24 keynote.
