It looks like the higher VRAM capacity edition for RTX 5070 mobile exists, and it's coming with the latest Lenovo gaming laptops.

Lenovo Prepares RTX 5070 Gaming Laptops With 12 GB VRAM Capacity; Launch Scheduled in April

Apparently, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 mobile GPU might get an upgrade, if we go by the recent reports. It's not the first time we have heard about the RTX 5070 mobile GPU featuring 12 GB VRAM, but those listings appeared to be a typo. Both ASUS and Lenovo have listed RTX 5070 with 12 GB VRAM recently, but Lenovo has done it again.

The latest listings by Lenovo were spotted by @94G8LA, which clearly list the RTX 5070 laptop GPU with 12 GB GDDR7 memory. Since the RTX 5070 laptop GPU comes with 8 GB VRAM, the newer edition is bringing 4 GB additional VRAM capacity, which means the GPU will utilize 3 GB GDDR7 memory modules. Still, considering NVIDIA hasn't announced it officially, we aren't 100% sure if NVIDIA is really supplying the upgraded RTX 5070 laptop GPU to laptop makers.

As per the listings, there are four Lenovo products that will carry the upgraded RTX 5070 GPU. Two are from the LOQ lineup, and two are from the Legion Pro 5 family. The specifications clearly state "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7", rated at 115W of TDP. So, it's rated 15W higher than the existing RTX 5070 laptop GPU variant, which operates in the 50-100W range. The boost clock is identical at 2347 MHz, and the same goes for the AI capability.

However, the Legion Pro 5 16ADR10 listing shows 988 AI TOPS of power vs the 798 AI TOPS the GPU usually carries. Moreover, the boost clock mentions 1425 MHz, which is actually the RTX 5070 laptop GPU's base clock. So, the specs appear to be inaccurate in this listing. It's also possible that all these listings are showing inaccurate specifications, but we will know it when the laptops launch at the end of April.
