One of the companies that does not really get as much attention as it deserves happens to be Nubia. The Nubia Z60 Ultra remains one of my favorite flagship phones, but the company is now branching out to foldable phones with the Nubia Flip 5G--no fancy names, just a really affordable foldable phone that makes one wonder how the company has managed to achieve that.
The Nubia Flip 5G is cheaper than some of the most affordable phones in the market
The Nubia 5G Flip went official recently, and at that time, I was not sure if the phone would be launching outside the domestic market, but it appears that aside from Europe, the phone is coming to the U.S. as well, becoming the most affordable global foldable phone that you can get your hands on.
If you are interested in buying the Nubia 5G Flip, it can be yours for a stellar price of just $499, and this will give you the base variant that comes with an 8./256GB configuration. If you are looking for an upgraded 12/512GB variant, then you are going to have to spend $699, which is still a lot cheaper than some of the standard phones available in the market. I think Nubia has a winner on its hands.
Now, of course, for the price that you are paying for the Nubia 5G Flip, you are not going to get a flagship, but the phone still has respectable specs. For starters, you are getting a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, a 6.9-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, and a 1.43-inch circular cover display. You also find a 4,310 mAh battery, 33W wired charging, and 50+2-megapixel cameras on the back, with a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.
It is safe to say that for the price you are paying, the Nubia 5G Flip is not going to break any ground. Still, it is one of the best-priced foldable phones, and if anything, it is a lesson for all the other big companies that foldable phones can be affordable without compromising a lot on other aspects of the device. Yes, this might not give you the best frame rate in Genshin Impact, but at least you will have a really good conversation started, and sometimes, that is what people are looking for in a smartphone.
If you want to preorder the Nubia 5G Flip, you can do so by heading over to the official website, filling in all the relevant details, and waiting for April 23rd for the phone to arrive.
