iPhone 16 Pro stprage capacity upgrade without price increase

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro are expected to launch later this year with a handful of new changes in terms of design and utilities that will make them a worthy upgrade over the current iPhone 15 lineup. While design changes will be minimal across the board, the company is planning to introduce a plethora of internal changes for improved performance. A new rumor claims that Apple's forthcoming iPhone 16 Pro models will house 256GB of storage capacity for the base model, up from 128GB on the current iPhone 15 Pro.

iPhone 16 Pro is expected to come with 256GB of storage capacity to match the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but could it cost more?

iPhone users have been complaining about the base 128GB of storage for a while, and as the company builds new features, it only piles up to take more space. Currently, the iPhone 15 models and iPhone 15 Pro come with only 128GB of storage capacity for the base model, and if you want to add more storage to the mix, you will have to spend extra bucks. With the iPhones getting more expensive, especially the 'Pro' models, it would make sense for the company to offer enhanced storage capacity.

The sketchy rumor was shared by LeaksApplePro (via MacObserver), stating that the Cupertino giant is looking to bump up the storage of the base iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max from 128GB to 256GB. As mentioned, the company is planning to upgrade the smaller iPhone 16 Pro with enhanced storage to streamline the 'Pro' lineup. Currently, the iPhone 15 Pro is priced at $999 while the iPhone 15 Pro Max is priced at $1,199, and if the rumor has any heft to it, the company could increase the price of the iPhone 16 Pro by $100 against additional storage capacity and other upgrades.

However, the tipster suggests otherwise, highlighting that Apple could bump up the storage of the iPhone 16 Pro while keeping the price the same as it is. Since the source does not have a consistent track record, we suspect that Apple could increase the price of the smaller iPhone 16 Pro, given how the company deems to offer additional enhancements on the side.

We have reported previously that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will come in a bigger screen size this year, 6.27 inches and 6.86 inches, respectively. Furthermore, with new camera modules in place alongside upgraded internals for better computational and graphical performance, the iPhone 16 Pro could cost $100 more than the iPhone 15 Pro. It remains to be seen if the company will increase the storage of the iPhone 15 Pro alone or if it sees fit to upgrade the standard models as well. Do you think Apple will raise the price of the iPhone 16 Pro after upgrading its storage capacity?
