Apple is now taking pre-orders for the iPhone 16

The Apple Store is currently down, which only means that the company is gearing up to open pre-orders for its iPhone 16 lineup. Just like last year and the year before, we will be greeted with a total of four models; the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, and the more premium iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The base versions’ displays remain unchanged at 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch, but the ‘Pro’ variants will now provide extended real estate as Apple has bumped the screen size to 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch.

Also, for the first time, the technology giant has incorporated two chipsets that have been mass produced on TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process, the A18 and A18 Pro. When comparing the specifications of both SoCs, we found that the only difference between the two was that the A18 Pro features one additional GPU core, totaling six. While we still have to gauge the graphics performance of the two silicon, if your main reason for upgrading to the iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro Max was getting a better chipset, then you may have to evaluate your opinion in this regard.

All four models will be able to run Apple Intelligence seamlessly, as this year, the entire iPhone 16 range has been kitted out with 8GB RAM. If you were anticipating a higher memory count, then you have to wait until next year, as Apple is rumored to bring 12GB RAM to its ‘Pro’ models. Since pre-orders will open up in multiple markets, including the U.S., keeping track of your geographical location will be difficult. Thankfully, we have included the local time at which those pre-orders will kick off, so make sure to tally your region and let us know in the comments which iPhone 16 will be your daily driver.
