Apple's OLED iPad Pro launch is less than a week away, and we are hearing details on the next-gen entry-level iPad. The company will strictly focus on the new OLED iPad Pro and iPad Air models, as it failed to launch any iPad upgrade last year. While this has been reflected in the company's earnings over the year, we speculate that the revenue will be sustained after the launch. Apple is working 'hard' on the new entry-level iPad, which will be priced below the iPad 10, while retaining the same features.
Apple wants to make the entry-level iPad cheap again while retaining the same features as new models
Apple has gradually increased the price of its entry-level iPad models which were once the budget kings. The device costs $449, which is getting closer to the iPad Air's price and according to Bloomberg, Apple is working hard to bring down the price of its next-generation entry-level iPad 11.
As mentioned, the company increased the price of the budget iPad when it introduced the new design. The new design came with a boatload of improvements not only on the outside but internally as well. The device gained an upgraded chip for better computational and graphical performance along with slimmer bezels and Touch ID in the Power button. The company wants to discontinue the iPad 9, and to make it happen, it is looking to offer the newer version with a significantly lower price tag.
While it was a decent upgrade, the company apparently wants to bring the price down to boost demand for the entry-level iPad. The bigger the difference with the iPad Air, the more it would entice users. The iPad Air lineup has its own set of features to be classified as a viable option in its price range.
It is very unlikely that the company will reduce the price of the upcoming iPad to $329 while introducing an upgraded chip and other notable additions. However, the price could rest somewhere between the price of the iPad 10 and the iPad 9. The iPad 11 is expected to launch later this year with decent upgrades, alongside the iPad mini 7, which is one of the best iPads to buy, in our opinion, due to its size and performance.
At its Let Loose event, the OLED iPad Pro is also rumored to house the new M4 chip, which will give room to AI-related features on a bigger screen. Moreover, the iPad Air is coming in a new 12.9-inch display size, and it will look identical to the smaller version. Do you think Apple will announce additional products other than the iPad at its May 7 event?
