However, now Lenovo has utilized the top-tier SKU in the Sapphire Rapids Refresh CPU, the Xeon W7-2595X, and it looks like the firm has already planned to release the Thinkstation P5 desktop, integrated with the upcoming Xeon processor.

This detail is verified by Ubuntu's certification program which was spotted by Momomo_US, which involves giving a "green signal" to hardware compatible with the ecosystem. Usually, this is a step done slightly before the official launch of a product. The Lenovo Thinkstation P5 already utilizes the Sapphire Rapids CPUs, but it looks like Lenovo is also interested in the "refresh" variants.

Intel Xeon W-2500 "Sapphire Rapids Refresh" CPU Lineup Leak: Up To 26 Cores, 4.8 GHz Clocks, 250W TDPs 1

For a quick rundown on specifications, the Intel Xeon W7-2595X CPU is the flagship model within the  Xeon W-2500 series and comes with 26 cores and 52 threads of configuration, along with 4.8 GHz of boost frequency and 250W TDP. In terms of generational gaps, the Xeon W7-2595X comes with 2 cores higher than the normal Xeon W7-2495X, and the core differences are consistent throughout the lineup, except for a few models.

In terms of the release date, Intel's Sapphire Rapids Refresh CPUs are expected to hit the markets sometime this year, and a good ballpark guess would be at the upcoming SIGGRAPH 2024 event, which commences at the end of this month.
