The Mate 70 is nearing its official launch date, which comes as no surprise, because one of the flagships belonging to Huawei’s latest series was recently pictured in a new leak. As the majority of you know, the company has a propensity to equip its high-end devices with various imaging sensors and in the latest live image, we can see five of them.
New Mate 70 may use a design similar to the Mate 60 RS Ultimate, with all five sensors housed inside a circular housing
Before the announcement of the Huawei Mate XT, there were a couple of occasions where the tri-fold smartphone was caught on camera. Similarly, Techmaniacs has reported about the Mate 70, with the device in question being pictured in a similar leak. This revelation hints that the former Chinese giant is gearing up to launch the new models, though no month or official announcement has been made.
Also, given that last year’s base Mate 60 shipped with three cameras, the Mate 70 may be given a sizable upgrade by featuring five shooters. However, it should be noted that two of them could be a depth sensor, while the second one is used for laser autofocus, meaning that these two may not be a part of the primary array that comprises of the wide, ultrawide-angle, and telephoto units.

All five of these sensors are neatly placed behind a circular housing, suggesting that Huawei may use some of the design aspects of the Mate 60 RS Ultimate for the Mate 70. Unfortunately, the remaining exterior of the flagship is covered by a black-colored case, and since the image is a pixelated mess, it is extremely difficult to figure out the remaining aesthetics from this angle.
Compared to the base Mate 60, the Mate 70 looks entirely different, which is an excellent sign for Huawei, because oftentimes a design overhaul is a major catalyst for a smartphone upgrade. The rest of the details we are expected to learn in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
