Run File Explorer Administrator – EXE File
Step-1: Open File Explorer by clicking on the Explorer icon on the taskbar. (You can use shortcut keys Win + E as well to open Explorer)
Step-2: Locate the exe file for File Explorer using this file path:
This PC > OS (C:) > Windows
(When you open the Windows file, you will have to scroll down a bit for the explorer exe)
Step-3: Right-click on the explorer exe file and select Run as administrator.
Step-4: You will be asked, do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? Select Yes.
You can open File Explorer with admin privileges using Task Manager as well.
- Use the shortcut keys Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Click on More Details.
- Click on File at the top right corner and select Run new task.
- Type explorer.exe in the Create new task box.
- Check the box next to Create this task with admin privileges.
