Here's the best stats to level up first in Crimson Desert

In Crimson Desert, Kliff’s physical growth is dictated by three core attributes: Health, Spirit, and Stamina. As you increase these stats by using Abyss Artifacts, which cannot be refunded without another rare type of Abyss Artifact, rather than traditional XP grinding, how you level up certain stats will determine how well you will do as you take your first steps in Pywell to restore the Greymanes.

All Upgradable Stats

All playable characters in Crimson Desert have three stats that can be upgraded via the Skill Tree using Abyss Artifacts.

  • Health: Your total hit points. This determines how much damage you can take before being defeated.
  • Spirit: This resource is consumed by certain skills, such as Palm Strike. It is primarily replenished by attacking enemies, but also with items.
  • Stamina: The most versatile stat. It is consumed by sprinting, climbing, heavy combat strings (R2/RT) and most other melee skills. It also dictates how much damage you can block.

Stats Leveling Up Priority Ranking

1. Stamina

Without a doubt, Stamina is the most important stat to prioritize early on for the following reasons.

  • Exploration is the heart of the Crimson Desert experience. Higher stamina allows you to climb for longer, and generally traverse the map with fewer interruptions.
  • Because you are often pitted against massive groups of enemies, blocking is essentia. A small Stamina bar will see your guard broken often, leaving you with no stamina for a short time to perfom anything besides your basic light attack string.
  • Many powerful skills, including a broken Spear skill that can make short of work of mobs and bosses, consume stamina. Advanced abilities, such as Aerial Swing (Axiom Force Level 3), require a high total maximum Stamina to even activate as well.

2. Health

While Stamina is crucial to enhance early on for its traversal and combat applications, Health is a more straightforward stat.

  • Given the aggressive nature of enemies and the considerable power of bosses, having more Health is necessary to survive without heavily relying on healing items. However, it takes second place in this priority ranking because most early-game damage can be mitigated through movement and blocking, which becomes more effective with higher Stamina.

3. Spirit

Spirit is the least vital stat to level up for the early game.

  • As Spirit is restored simply by attacking, you will rarely find yourself out of it if you don't abuse certain abilities. The starting pool is generally enough to handle the starting skills without needing a permanent boost.

NOTE: It is important to note that any stat improvement made for Kliff is also applied to the other playable characters. As such, you do not need to worry about Damiane and Oonkga remaining behind.
