Another Code Recollection

Another Code: Recollection is the new Switch remake of the Nintendo-published DS and Wii cult-classic story-driven adventure games Another Code: Two Memories (known as Trace Memory in North America) and Another Code: R – A Journey into Lost Memories. Beyond the expected visual updates, Another Code: Recollection also completely remixes the games’ puzzles, meaning even those familiar with the originals will find themselves on new ground.

Another Code: Two Memories mostly takes place in and around the mysterious Edward Mansion, but how do you actually get inside it? This is the first major challenge you’ll face in the game, but don’t worry, we’re here to walk you through. Scroll on down to find out how to gain access to the Edward Mansion…

Note: While our Another Code: Recollection guides stay away from specific story details, they may still contain some SPOILERS. Proceed accordingly.

  • Step 1 - As you first approach Edward Mansion, you’ll find the front gate locked. Hmm, where to go? Head to the right and you’ll find a trail you can take amongst the bushes. This will take you to the graveyard.
  • Step 2 – In the graveyard, you’ll see a series of three headstones for past Edward family members. Take a picture of them using your DAS’ camera so you’ll remember them. The first headstone on the left features a bird holding a two-leaf clover, with the leaves oriented vertically. The second headstone has two birds holding something, and the third again has a single bird holding something, but in both cases what exactly the birds is holding can’t be seen as the headstones have been damaged.
  • Step 3 – Look around a bit and you’ll find a door with a combination lock. Each one has various clover-like designs on it. The three tumblers correspond to the three headstones, so the one on the left is two vertically aligned clover leaves. You kind of have to extrapolate for the others – the middle gravestone has two birds, each likely holding a 2-leaf clover, so the middle is a 4-leaf clover. The damaged spot on the third headstone is somewhat wider than it is tall, so the third tumbler is a horizontally-aligned 2-leaf clover.

Here's the combination to the lock.

  • Step 4 – You’re now in the main outer courtyard of the house. The front door of the house is locked, and you’ll find two bird-shaped knockers on it. You have to use these two knockers in a specific pattern.
  • Step 5 – Turn around, the pattern of darker bricks on the path show you the pattern. Right, left, right, left, right, then both together.

There you go! You now have access to Edward Mansion and your adventure can really begin!
