Razer is no strange to the consumer market and has been a fan favourite among gamers and enthusiasts for several years. The market was rife with speculations of Razer releasing a smartphone long before their official announcement about the Razer Phone. The Razer Phone has all the bells and whistles of a flagship device (Snapdragon 835, 8GB RAM, Dolby Atmos certified speakers and the works). And no, the Razer Phone doesn’t come with a 3.5mm audio jack, which comes off as a bit ironic, considering the fact that most Razer headphones use a 3.5mm audio connector.

What sets the Razer Phone apart from garden-variety flagships is the fact that it features the world’s first ever smartphone panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The higher refresh rate allows for a smoother, almost PC-esque gaming experience on a smartphone. The feature, however, is disabled by default and has to be manually enabled via the device settings.

To adjust your refresh rate, go to the Phone’s “Settings,” navigate down to “Display,” select “Refresh Rate,” and choose the “120Hz” option. Another issue was application support, with virtually no titles possessing the capability to take advantage of the Razer Phone’s superior hardware. This is all set to change now, as Razer published a list of titles that are optimized to be run at 120Hz, some of which can be found below:

  • Tekken Mobile
  • Injustice
  • Injustice 2
  • Mortal Kombat X
  • Gear.Club
  • Asphalt 8
  • Riptide GP: Renegade
  • Final Fantasy XV: Personal Edition
  • Space Rangers: Legacy
  • Vendetta Online
  • Runescape
  • Lineage 2: Revolution
  • Evoland
  • Middle Earth: Shadow of War
  • Titanfall Assault
  • Warhammer 40k: Freeblade
  • Warfair
  • World of Tanks: Blitz
  • World of Warships
  • Modern Combat 5
  • Shadowgun Legends
  • Hitman Sniper
  • KillAllZombies
  • Meridian
  • Bug Butcher
  • Caterzillar
  • Dash Galactic

The complete list of games can be found on Razer’s website. There was a lot of skepticism around the device, doubting its capabilities as a gaming smartphone. We hope that more developers optimize their titles for the Razer Phone, so we get the complete gaming experience the device promises. Which titles would you like to see amped up for the Razer Phone? Let us know in the comments.
