Gearbox Software's upcoming FPS RPG shooter "Borderlands 2" has been officially unveiled in GameInformer's September Cover. Sequel to the highly successful GOTY Borderlands, Borderlands 2 will feature a similar story line based on Planet Pandora.
2K games also confirmed the title to be under development a few days ago which we reported here. As far as the release date goes, 2K has announced that it'd release near the Fiscal year 2012 which means that the game would release sometime after April 2012.
The first title had ad truly unique FPS experience with lots of RPG elements and tons of content to explorer. The graphics engine of the second title will also use a Cell Shaded technique which made the first one look marvelous.
“Combining invention and evolution, Borderlands 2 features all-new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons and equipment, which come together in an ambitiously crafted story,” said 2K Games in a press release. “Players will reveal secrets, and escalate mysteries of the Borderlands universe as they adventure across the unexplored new areas of Pandora.”
