The first quarter will witness the arrival of Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series, which is scheduled to be announced on February 25, which only means that the Korean giant will have shifted into the fifth gear regarding mass production. A fresh report has now stated that the Galaxy S26 Plus will be a part of the new lineup, and unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will make up the majority of the initial shipments, with more than six times the volume compared to the remaining devices.
Galaxy S26 Ultra is estimated to have 3.6 million units available at launch, with the Galaxy S26 Plus understandably having the lowest figure
Shortly after tipster Ice Universe shared the first Geekbench 6 results of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, where the latter obtained lower single-core and multi-core scores thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5’s performance cores running at a lower frequency, The Elec reports that Samsung is making preparations for the new models. The Galaxy S26 Plus will apparently retain the same 6.66-inch display size as its immediate predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Plus.
Technologically, the device isn’t expected to stand out from the rest of the lineup or the competition, with tipster Ice Universe commenting that the smartphone will serve as a ‘structural stabilizer’ for the entire flagship after the removal of the Galaxy S26 Edge. Back in October 2024, Samsung reportedly decided to halt the development of its upcoming sleek flagship because the Galaxy S25 Edge didn’t garner the sales reception that the company hoped it would to materialize a successor.
Racing against time, Samsung needed to act fast, and during the same month of October, the company commenced the development of the Galaxy S26 Plus. As for the initial production volume, the figures are listed below. As mentioned earlier, the Ultra variant commands the highest number, as this version has historically garnered the most popularity.
- Galaxy S26: 700,000 units
- Galaxy S26 Plus: 600,000 units
- Galaxy S26 Ultra: 3.6 million units
The manufacturing volume of the base model and Plus variant is expected to rise in February, with the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s shipment figures expected to decline because Samsung was already laser-focused on boosting its production.
