The idea of smart rings used to sound strange to me, but when I realized that a smart ring is just like a smartwatch minus the ability to tell the time and a screen, I quickly found myself interested in this wearable. There are already some options available in the market, but the upcoming Galaxy Ring is going to be the first from Samsung. This makes a lot of sense for someone who is already tied into the ecosystem.
Galaxy Ring could become the first wearable that I would be interested in
Now, the Galaxy Ring was formally introduced during the Galaxy Unpacked event that happened earlier this year in January, but Samsung did not reveal a lot of details about the smart ring. As a matter of fact, we don't even know when the ring is going to come out, aside from some rumors that suggest that the final launch is happening sometime later this year. Now, the smart ring has made its way to the Good Lock app.
A Reddit user found the existence of Galaxy Ring within the Good Lock app. The module allows you to see the battery percentage of all the devices you have connected to your phone. This is a handy feature for those looking forward to ensuring they can manage all their devices without any issues.
Now, it is worth noting that the details on the Galaxy Ring are still scarce. There was a recent leak that talked about how the ring will be available in multiple sizes and three finishes and will be incredibly light. It indicates that the ring could be made out of titanium, and if that is the case, then we will certainly get something that will feel and look really good. As far as this Good Lock addition is concerned, this could indicate that the release date could be near.
Previously, I was under the impression that the Galaxy Ring could come out when the company announces the Galaxy Watch 7 series, and that is still a couple of months away, so we will have to wait and see what information surfaces as we move closer. I have never really understood the concept of smart rings, but after realizing that they have the potential to replace smartwatches, I am now a lot more interested in them, and I cannot wait to see when Samsung comes out with this ring and what it can do.
