Fortnite Crosses Over with Borderlands, Bringing Mayhem and a Chunk of Pandora to the Game

Borderlands 3 won’t have any sort of battle royale mode, but you can now get a small taste of what that might be like courtesy of Fortnite. Yes, the Fortnite x Mayhem crossover brings Borderlands content, including Claptrap, a Psycho skin, and a chunk of Pandora, to the world's most popular battle royale game. You can check out a trailer for the crossover, below.

Here’s a rundown of the new Borderlands content:

Inhabitants of Pandora have found their way to Fortnite, and they brought with them the planet’s characteristic mayhem. Shoot and loot your way through the Pandora Rift Zone, take on themed Challenges for free rewards, and pick up the Psycho Bundle from the shop.

If you’re going to make some mayhem, you have to look the part. Pick up the Psycho Bundle from the shop and travel around with Claptrap on your back! The Pandora Rift Zone has appeared on the map, bringing its iconic planet look with an added bonus — if you go long enough without taking damage, you’ll generate Shield. There are some other surprises for you to discover as you wreak havoc in Pandora.

Create your own Pandora using new Prefabs in Fortnite Creative! Change up the look of your location using the new camera filter and share your masterpiece using #FortniteXMayhem. Looking for some loot? Check out the free Welcome to Pandora Challenge Bundle, with rewards like the Mayhem Wrap, Vault Hunter Banner, Psycho Spray, and Crunk Bunny Spray.

Most of the Fortnite x Mayhem content is free, although you will have to cough up some V-bucks for the Psycho Bundle, which includes the Claptrap Pet, Psycho Bandit Outfit and the Psycho Buzz Axes. Ah, but if you pre-order Borderlands 3 from the Epic Games Store, you get the Psycho Bundle for free. Very clever, Epic.

Fortnite is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and mobile platforms. The Fortnite x Mayhem crossover content is available as of today. Of course, the Borderlands stuff launches alongside a regular update – you can get the full patch notes here.
