How to Force Reset iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max [Tutorial]
We’ll show you how you can force reset your iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max in case your phone freezes or you want to refresh things up quickly.
iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max Has a Slightly Different Force Reset Process, Here’s How it Goes
Learning an all-new smartphone can be very demanding, especially if you’re coming from something a tad bit ancient like an iPhone 5. But really, the gesture based system on the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max is quite intuitive, which means that you’ll get the hang of it soon.
But since the Home button is no more, and Apple’s latest lineup of smartphones ditches it completely then performing certain tasks is different too, such as taking a screenshot or even performing a force reset.
Previously, a screenshot could be taken using a simple Home + Power key combinations. A force reset could be accomplished by simply holding the Home + Power buttons together for ten seconds until you see the Apple logo. However, since there is no Home button on the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, therefore you have to perform a few extra steps in order to achieve that. You can skip a paragraph if you want to know how to force reset an iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max, but I will lay down a few lines explaining why you need to know this.
At the end of the day, whether it’s any smartphone or tablet, you’ll come across a few lines of code running in the background that will end up freezing your device, making things absolutely unresponsive. In order to get things back to normal, a force reset is absolutely necessary.
So, how do you force reset an iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max? It’s simple really, but read through carefully because it’s highly likely that you’ll get it wrong in the first try. But it’s all worth it in the end:
- Press the Volume Up button then let go of it.
- Immediately press the Volume Down button then let go of it.
- Now Immediately press and hold the Power button until you see the power down screen which will then go completely black and after a few seconds you’ll be greeted with the Apple logo.
- Once you see the logo, just let go of the Power button.
Not as convenient as other smartphones, but hey, it’s something, isn’t it?
