Prerequisites before you install Android Lollipop:
- You should install and configure Nexus USB drivers on your Windows PC.
- Enable USB Debugging mode from Settings > Development menu.

- Once your device boots into thebootloader mode,
- type: fastboot oem unlock

- Launch Terminal,
- type: bash <(curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/corbindavenport/nexus-tools/master/install.sh)
- Go to System Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts > Services > enable New Terminal at Folder.
- Now connect your Nexus to Mac using a USB cable.
- Extract Android 5.0 factory image in a folder on your desktop.
- Right-click on the new folder and point to Services > click on New Terminal at Folder,
- type: adb reboot bootloader
- Next type, fastboot oem unlock
- Follow on-screen instructions to complete the process.
