How to Dismiss Google Assistant And Bring Back Google Now On Tap
So your Android device recently got the much-talked about Google Assistant, but unlike others, you do not quite like it. Are you already missing Google Now on Tap and want to have it back? If you nodded yes to the question then don't worry, we have got you covered.
How to Dismiss Google Assistant
To disable Google Assistant from your Home screen - Open Google Assistant and then tap on the "Settings" option given in the Hamburger menu. Now, tap on "Assistant Language", after that tap on "Add a language" > tap on "English" and then select any country from the list such as Singapore, India, or XA (do not select US, UK, or Germany). After selecting the language, close the window. Head back to the home screen and you will be delighted to have the good old Now on Tap back. In case you ever change your mind then you can have the Assistant back by just changing back the "Assistant Language" > "English" > "United States" or "United Kingdom".
Waiting for Google Assistant's arrival on your phone?
If you're among those who've been eagerly looking forward to get your hands on Google Assistant then we also have a few tips and tricks for you under our sleeve. Firstly, you have to ensure that your phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow or Nougat. Secondly, you need to check that your system language is set to "US English", in case it is not then assign it as the default language for your system. These two are the only requisites to get Google Assistant on your phone.
We must warn you that there are many articles on the internet claiming that you can use some tricks to get the Assistant earlier, but all that's a hoax. You will get the update in a gradual way whenever your phone gets a server side push from Google. Patience is the key here.
