Wales Interactive, Dark Rift Horror, and Northern Film have announced the release date for the upcoming FMV horror game, Dead Reset, which is confirmed to arrive on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, on September 11, 2025.
Dead Reset is the 17th FMV or interactive cinematic experience that Wales Interactive has had its hand in since 2016, as the studio has gone between FMV/cinematic titles to survival FPS games, 2.5D auto-attack survival games, VR titles, roguelike deckbuilders, and more since 2012. And while the studio has gone across genres in all of those projects, it seems to have a real penchant for horror titles as Dead Reset dips Wales Interactive's toes back in those terrifying waters.
You play as Cole, a surgeon who keeps waking up at the same moment in time, and keeps getting asked to perform a surgery on a patient who has something lodged in their abdomen. He resets back to the same point before the surgery when he dies, and by the look of the trailer, he doesn't exactly seem to die in the nicest of ways.
As far as a Nintendo Switch 2 version, it seems like Wales Interactive is one of the studios that has not had any luck securing a Nintendo Switch 2 development kit, a problem that has surfaced since the console was announced and as of a couple of weeks ago from the time of this writing, is reportedly still a problem for several studios, not just Wales Interactive. A spokesperson for Wales Interactive confirmed to Wccftech that it is "absolutely our intention to bring Dead Reset to Nintendo Switch 2 when development kits become available. It's a platform we'd love to support."
