Chances of Naughty Dog Making Another Uncharted after Lost Legacy Are Low

Game Informer's exclusive coverage for this month is all about Naughty Dog's Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the upcoming standalone single player DLC for Uncharted 4 announced at PlayStation Experience 2016.

The first story published by Game Informer tells us that Naughty Dog isn't all that interested in making additional Uncharted games in the future. Here's what co-president Evan Wells said:

I would say that Naughty Dog doing an Uncharted after this is unlikely. I would never say never, but we've got The Last of Us Part II on our plates and there's so much other stuff that [we want to explore]. It'd be hard. If we magically had that two-team, three-team studio, sure – it'd be great to keep doing it. We really love the franchise, but the studio has limited resources and lots of other ideas. I'd say the likelihood is low.

Still, if Naughty Dog doesn't want to make it Sony could very well give the IP to another internal studio. It would be weird if such a profitable IP was left to die.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is due for release at some point in 2017. Here's what Naughty Dog told us about the game so far.

Over the years, we’ve assembled an incredible cast of characters, but of them all, we kept coming back to one in particular: Chloe Frazer. As the smooth-talking master thief that debuted in Uncharted 2, Chloe is not only one of our favorite characters, but we know she’s a favorite amongst our community. She’s also a strong and enigmatic character —in other words, perfect to be our lead protagonist in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

Our video shows an early section of the game where we find Chloe in a war-torn city on her way to a rooftop rendezvous with her partner, Nadine Ross. Much like Chloe, Nadine is a formidable and interesting character whose complex nature we just started exploring in her Uncharted 4 debut. She’s a skilled tactician, whose cool, calculating nature offers an important contrast to Chloe’s improvisation and wit. As they venture deep into India’s Western Ghats mountain range, they’ll need to work together to recover the long lost Tusk of Ganesh.
