New Capcom game CAPCOM leaks

Today, CAPCOM announced the acquisition of two-thirds of the shares of Minimum Studios, an animation production company based in Taiwan. The paid-in capital is less than $30K. Here's the rationale for the acquisition shared publicly by the Japanese developer and publisher.

Based in Taiwan, Minimum Studios’ strength lies in animation production for consumer home video game development, and the studio has carried out work on major Capcom titles in the past. Capcom decided to make the studio its subsidiary company to sustainably bolster its developmental and technological capabilities, aiming to achieve its long-term management goal of 100 million units in annual sales.

Going forward, Capcom will continue to explore the acquisition of necessary technological capabilities in order to enhance its game development organization.

Founded in August 2018, Minimum Studios previously contributed to Capcom games like Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, and Dragon's Dogma 2 with in-game and cutscene animations. Here's an overview of the services offered by Minimum:

We specialize in keyframe animation and motion capture to create exquisitely detailed animation works. Whether it's for animation or gaming, we possess professional expertise and extensive experience to bring your creativity and imagination to life in the virtual world.

In other CAPCOM news, the Japanese studio will host the NEXT event later today. Fans will be able to learn new information and watch new footage of three games: Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard for iPhone/iPad/Mac. Monster Hunter Wilds won't be there, in case you were wondering. The whole show is expected to last around 25 minutes, starting at 3 PM Pacific Time.
