Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 – Will Release in November, Will Possibly Feature Missions Set in the Past – Old-Gen Versions Handled by Another Studio

Since the announcement that the next Call of Duty title will be Black Ops 3, there has been a lot of speculation regarding the setting of the new title and whether it will take place in the future or not. Another subject that has been talked about is whether exo-suits will be making a comeback.

Industry insider Shinobi602 has responded to some questions on Twitter sharing his thoughts on some of the aspects of Black Ops 3.

Regarding whether Black Ops 3 will feature missions that take place in the past he responded that even though he doesn't know for sure there's a good chance of that.

Black Ops 3 will surely be releasing in November, but no specific date is known yet.

The Xbox 360 version will be made by another studio and not Treyarch, something that seems incredibly  promising for current-gen and PC versions.

Even though, Shinobi602 didn't reveal anything new, it still is quite nice to know that Treyarch's focus was exclusively geared towards the current gen versions and did not make any compromises in order to accommodate last-gen consoles.

Shinobi602 himself has previously tweeted that the new Call of Duty will be different from previous games as well as movement that will be a little different than before. This aspect has not been addressed since, so now that we know that the new title in the Call of Duty series will be Back Ops 3, there can be many different scenarios that could happen.

Black Ops 3 "Deploys Players Into a Dark, Twisted Future"

The official website details the game's setting in its source code:

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series. Developed by Treyarch, the award-winning creator of the two most-played games in Call of Duty history. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare. With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies, providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever.
