Developer Bloober Team has released a statement regarding the development of the highly-anticipated Silent Hill 2 Remake.

Announced more than a year ago, the remake of Silent Hill 2 is coming to both PS5 and PC. Since then, both Bloober Team and publisher Konami have been rather quiet, and we've yet to receive more information and a release date for the remake. Yes, Bloober Team's Chief Marketing Officer Anna Jasińska confirmed that the game will stick to the story canon of the original game, although certain areas will receive adjustments. We also covered some rumors about launch date news recently per the game's listing on SteamDB. Nothing official just yet, however.

One can imagine the frustration of some fans about the lack of communication of one of their favorite titles. Luckily, Bloober Team has now taken to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal that production on the game is progressing well and in line with the team's internal schedule. The studio added that, when it comes to communication, it's up to Konami to share more details about the game.

"As Bloober Team, we are proud to be a part of Konami's plans for the Silent Hill franchise", the statement from Bloober Team on X reads. "Alongside our partner, we are diligently working to ensure the Silent Hill 2 remake attains the highest quality. On behalf of our development team, we would like to clarify that the production is progressing smoothly and in accordance with our schedule. We understand that many players around the world are eagerly anticipating news about the game, and we appreciate your dedication.

The studio continued, "However, we kindly ask for a bit more patience. Once Konami, as the game's publisher, shares more information, we are confident that the wait will be worthwhile."

When confronted with the lack of communication since the official announcement last year, the studio added that "communication" is clearly part of Konami's job.

We'll update you as soon as more information about Silent Hill 2 Remake comes in. For now, stay tuned. We've included last year's announcement trailer below:
