The GPU costs even higher than the MSRP of the GeForce RTX 5090, which carries a price tag of $1999 for the FE model.
ASUS RTX 5080 Noctua OC Spotted on JD for a Whopping 16,599 Yuan, Which is Almost Twice the Official MSRP of the Card
Roughly two weeks ago ASUS launched its special edition RTX 5080 Noctua OC, which boasts a four-slot design, offering Noctua NF-A12 fans for achieving superior cooling performance while remaining quiet. As per ASUS, it's the quietest RTX 5080 card, and while there is no doubt that Noctua's cooling solutions are excellent in both thermal and acoustic performance, the price tag appears to be insanely high.
As seen on JD, a popular e-commerce Chinese platform, the ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua OC edition is listed at an incredible 16,599 Yuan. For reference, the MSRP for the reference model is 8,299 Yuan in China, which translates to around US$1,156 at the current exchange rate. A price tag of 16,599 converts to around US$2,313, which is near to the MSRP of the GeForce RTX 5090, the flagship Blackwell GeForce card.

Although the RTX 5080 is hard to find at MSRP in a lot of regions, it's mostly seen listed for $1200-$1500. The Noctua OC edition seems to be priced competitively with the GeForce RTX 5090 rather than with other premium RTX 5080 models. If that's what's the official MSRP for the RTX 5080 Noctua OC in China, expect it to cost nearly $2000 in other parts of the world as well. At this price tag, it's close to the most expensive RTX 5080, which is the ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 Dhahab CORE OC, which launched at around $2500-$2600, but the latter comes with $700 worth of Gold.
The GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua OC, on the other hand, doesn't bring "real" Gold and is mostly popular due to its unusual and hefty heatsink and high-performance cooling solution. Moreover, the card doesn't feature the highest clocks out of the box, and only delivers a 100 MHz higher boost clock. Sure, one can manually increase the core clock and get some good uplifts through overclocking, but paying an additional $1000 is just too much. You can literally buy two GeForce RTX 5080 cards at this price, and the performance difference won't be that significant compared to any of those. However, the GeForce RTX 5090 for the same price will deliver a drastic performance boost.
