Some considered it a hoax; others thought it was merely an example of online bravado. Regardless of the initial impressions, it seems that Elon Musk is quite serious about meeting Meta's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, in an elaborate cage match.
I did an impromptu training session with @elonmusk for a few hours yesterday. I'm extremely impressed with his strength, power, and skill, on the feet and on the ground. It was epic. It's really inspiring to see Elon and Mark doing martial arts, but I think the world is served… pic.twitter.com/cq00A9Xnmw

Lex Fridman, a podcast host and a research scientist at MIT, held an impromptu martial arts training session with Elon Musk recently. Do note that Mark Zuckerberg is quite proficient at Jujitsu, a fact that has been pivotal in placing the CEO of Meta at the forefront of the bookies' odds.
Of course, Elon Musk does have a weight and height advantage over Zuckerberg. For reference, the CEO of Meta is 5" 7 and weighs around 70 kg. In contrast, Elon Musk is 5" 11 and weighs 81 kg. At 39, Mark Zuckerberg is also younger than Elon Musk, who is now 51 years old.
As a refresher, this strange saga began when news emerged that Meta was seeking to launch a Twitter rival called THREADS. Elon Musk then challenged Mark Zuckerberg to a cage match. The CEO of Meta responded by asking Musk to choose the location of the hyped-up cage match. The answer from the CEO of Tesla was simply a one-liner tweet: "Vegas Octagon."
Meanwhile, oddsmakers have been quite busy in recent days in deciphering the probabilities around the much-anticipated cage match's minutiae. While a lot of bookies have pinned Mark Zuckerberg as the favorite, Paddy Power has pegged roughly even odds of 10/11 (52.4 percent) on either side winning the match. The bettor believes that there is a 25 percent probability that the match ends up in a tie. We have illustrated some of the more interesting odds from Paddy Power in the above gallery.
Elon Musk's net worth is up $98B year-to-date, which is basically as much as Zuckerberg's entire net worth. Insane. pic.twitter.com/mQpH5t0Qqa

Apart from the glitz and glamor of this spectacle, readers should note that Elon Musk has already bested Mark Zuckerberg in a much grander arena: net worth. As shown in the above tweet, Elon Musk's net worth has increased by $98 billion so far this year. Astoundingly, this delta (change) almost eclipses Mark Zuckerberg's entire net worth!
