According to a new report published by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the Apple Glass is in its early stages of development and will take another few years to see daylight. The Apple Glass could revolve around the same AR functionality as the Vision Pro, but it could house its own set of novelties and possibly a few feature cuts, considering its smaller size and form factor. However, the exact details are scarce at this stage as the device will launch later than expected.
Previously, it was rumored that Apple's smart glasses would launch between 2026 and 2027 at the earliest, but Mark Gurman states that no one in the company believes that the smart glasses will be ready in the coming years. This possibly suggests that the launch could be pushed later due to the device being in its early stage. Apple just launched the Vision Pro, and it will take time to introduce a new product version that could cannibalize it unless certain limitations are put in place.
Gurman believes that the company will wait a few extra years to determine the feasibility of Apple Glasses. The company is currently hiring employees for its Vision Pro Group, which shows that it has aimed its attention on its headset.
