AMD's Ryzen 9000 "Granite Ridge" CPU with the Zen 5 architecture has leaked out and is allegedly up to 19% faster in single-thread versus Zen 4.

AMD Zen 5 CPU Leak Points Out To Ryzen 9000 "Granite Ridge" Being Faster Than Zen 4 With 3D V-Cache, Running At 5.8 GHz Frequency

It looks like AMD's next-gen Ryzen CPUs based on the Zen 5 core architecture have started to leak out. The newest data comes from Baidu Forums where a user has leaked an alleged sample of the processor featuring the "100-0000001290" OPN ID. This is still an early engineering sample but it is reported that the Infinity Fabric has changed a lot and the CPU runs at a frequency of up to 5.8 GHz which is 100 MHz faster than the Ryzen 9 7950X, making it the fastest clocked Ryzen CPU to date.

The CPU-z screenshot of this alleged Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPU shows a 170W TDP which means that we might be looking at a 16-core or 12-core configuration. The CPU has also been tested within CPU-z and scores around 910 points. This is an impressive lead over the Zen 4-based Ryzen 9 7950X which scores an average of 767 points, leading to a +19% performance gain.

Other details mentioned in this leak include a brand new infinity fabric interconnect that should bode well for the CCD-To-CCD and IOD communication. There are also reports of the IMC (Memory Controller) being upgraded and lastly, it is stated that the performance of the standard Zen 5 CPU should exceed that of the Zen 4 3D V-Cache chips in gaming.

AMD is expected to launch the Ryzen 9000 "Granite Ridge" CPUs with Zen 5 architecture in four SKUs which would range from 16, 12, 8 & 6 cores. Additionally, we have seen rumors state an IPC increase of close to 10% with some specific workloads pushing performance gains as high as 40%. Several engineering samples have also been leaked as spotted here. Not a lot about AMD's Zen 5 core architecture is known at the moment but the following highlights are what we officially know:

The AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPUs are rumored to hit retail shelves by July. We are just a few days from the AMD keynote so expect more information. The company will also introduce its Ryzen AI 300 mobile APUs, which start with the new Strix designs.
