AMD RX Vega 64 Gigabyte Gaming OC Custom Card Pictured
A rumor emerged early last week that Gigabyte will not be making any custom cooled AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 graphics cards,. That rumor can be put to rest today, as not only do we know now that it's not true, we actually have pictures of what their first custom RX Vega 64 looks like.
AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 Gigabyte Gaming OC Custom Card Pictured - Factory Overclocked Dual Fan Design With Custom PCB
The pictures were sent to VCZ by one of their readers and show a large, 2.5 slot, open air design featuring two of Gigabyte's signature 90mm alternate spinning fans. VCZ reports that the early confusion around whether custom RX Vega 64 Gigabyte cards exist at all simply stemmed from miscommunication. The company is in the process of merging its motherboard and graphics card departments and there's been some reshuffling of roles.
A Gigabyte Radeon RX Vega 56 GAMING OC is also on the way and will feature the same cooling solution. In terms of aesthetics the card sticks to Gigabyte's existing black and red shroud design found in its RX 580/570 AORUS cards and features a full backplate. Although the AORUS branding is clearly missing from the Vegas, which indicates that the company will likely release triple-fan AORUS branded designs similar to its GTX 1070, 1080 and 1080 Ti AORUS designs.
The pictures indicate that the card is making use of a custom PCB and as the name of the card implies it will feature a yet unknown overclock right out of the factory. Finally, the card has quite a unique rear-IO setup that is made up of 3 HDMI ports and 3 DisplayPorts. It's not yet clear when this card will be available on shelves, but earlier reports indicate somewhere between mid October to November.
