Alexa smart assistant is making its way to select ASUS notebooks, according to Amazon at CES 2018.

Your ASUS Notebook is Getting a New Virtual Assistant – Amazon Alexa. But on Select Models Only.

Virtual assistants are here to stay. If Samsung’s move of putting one in a refrigerator is anything to go by, then it’s safe to say that we can expect a whole lot more.

According to Amazon, the Alexa voice assistant is coming to the 2018 range of ASUS ZenBook and VivoBook laptops. But of course, the exact models haven’t been revealed thus far. According to Amazon:

According to Steve Rabuchin, Vice President, Amazon Alexa, “Voice is a natural interface for interacting with technology and can make everyday tasks simpler. We’re delighted that ASUS will bring the Alexa experience to its laptop models – providing hands-free voice capabilities, and tens of thousands of skills, to PC customers at their desks and on-the-go.”

Since we don’t have specific models to go with, we will hear more about this announcement in the first half of 2018. So basically, there’s more to this story than a mere announcement from Amazon, so stay tuned for more.

Compared to the likes of Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri, Amazon Alexa can do a lot of cool stuff. It gets better when you pair the assistant up with your smart home setup. But of course, like any other assistant, the one from Amazon will reply back at your goofy questions too, if you have any. Other than that, brace yourself for the complete takeover by virtual assistants in the time to come.
