Samsung Galaxy S8 lineup has been on top of the review charts ever since it went official. In a battery-life test conducted by PhoneArena, Samsung’s Galaxy S8+ was pitted against Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus and rival Android phones like LG G6, OnePlus 3, Google Pixel, and Huawei P10.

In the Galaxy S8+ battery test, the website concluded that while the Galaxy S8+ easily outlasts every Android phone but it falls short against Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus. The Galaxy S8+ lacks by an hour in the battery life comparison against the iPhone 7 Plus.

In the review, PhoneArena writes:

The Galaxy S8+ battery life test result stands at exactly 8 hours. Compare this with the 7 hours and 18 minutes that the already very good Galaxy S7 Edge scored, and you see that Samsung has managed to improve on their last year’s phone. The S8+ also bests the Google Pixel XL, the OnePlus 3T, but falls a bit short of the battery life on the iPhone 7 Plus.

During Galaxy S8+ battery test, the reviewers kept the Galaxy S8+ and rival phones on 200 nits of brightness. As we reported recently, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come set to FullHD+ (1080 x 2220 pixels) resolution by default; the reviewers tested the Galaxy S8+ unit on the FullHD+ resolution, and other phones were also set to the same. Notably, the reviewers tested the Exynos 8895 version of Galaxy S8+ for this battery test. It means that the results could come out different for the Snapdragon 835 variant.

The website says that the Galaxy S8+ could easily make it through an entire day on heavy usage, but it fails to last for the subsequent day on a single charge. However, Samsung’s Fast Adaptive Charging technology comes to the rescue when the user does not have much time to spare for charging; it reportedly juices up the 3500mAh battery in 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Admittedly, it is not the fastest charging time that we have seen on the recent flagships, but it is kinda acceptable concerning industry standard. Also, it is worth mentioning that Galaxy S8+ offers 1 hour and 40 minutes on wired charging, not wireless. For wireless charging, the device could take more time to fuel up the entire battery.
